Thread: Noble headlight covers

  1. #21
Sorry to dredge up an old thread...

Do you have replacement covers available?
    What is the cost?

I can't find the thread, but I vaguely recall you posting that you were specifying a different plastic than Hi-Tech. What plastic did they use? Polycarbonate?

    Hi jeff,

I actually need a kick in the butt on this!!!!

    Here's what happened:

I'm not any type of expert with polycarbonate, so please bare with me.

the place that was making the fastback slump formed the proto-type. I also sent them the headlight covers.
I was unahppy with the results of the fastback and decided to make an entire fastback as one piece. Basically, it's an entire clam.

I took back all my parts and found another company that could do a small production run.
It is a polycarbonate with a tint. There is a chemical that is sprayed over it to give it a "scratch" resistant coating after the piece is formed.

The new tool is being made.
I will save you a set. WE all can use spares. Almost every Noble that comes in is cracked.

I'll either email you or post here.

Thanks for bringing this up. I get caught up in so many daily activities, I often drop the ball on things like this.

    Hoover,

I use Aircraft Windshield Co. in Los Alimitos, CA to make all my race car windscreens. The clarity and quality is beyond expectations and any color is available. If you go to their website you will see how many windscreens they have made for vintage race cars worth tens of millions. They make aircraft windscreens/windows, doesn't get any better, I know I'm an A&P. Anyone can send them parts and they will create the mould/moulds and keep them in house for future orders. Contact Judy at 562-430-8108. I will attach a photo of the windshield on the latest restoration we have just completed, it has some very complicated contours. Concourse quality work..........
