    Monterey Car Week Aug 13-16

    Hey Folks,

Monterey Car Week is right around the corner. I've only attended a few times and once we brought a bunch of Nobles and parked on a hill. Got tons of attention.

I wish I could stay a few days, but not all of it is exactly my cup of tea.
I'd like to see the proto-types, but not sure how to navigate the show efficiently.
Can someone point me on where to see that display?

    Thanks in advance,

I would usually just hit Laguna Seca and cruise the pits looking at all the vintage racers and watch them run on the track. I have been to the Italiano Concorso but the sea of red Ferrari's soon got old. Pebble Beach isn't my cup of tea either...but I think that is where you might find some prototypes on display.

Sunday (8/16) at the track/paddock might be a good bet. Definitely less crowded than Saturday because PB draws a lot of the crowd on Sunday.
Some of the more interesting competition-type cars can be found in, or near, the garage area; and several major manufacturers generally have their own displays in stand-alone tents. Also, check out the displays of specialty cars usually on the grassy area between turns 3 and 4.

Do I need to pre-purchase padock tickets?
Black Hawk Auto Museum has chartered a bus for Sunday's event, but I'm not sure if it allows you to make it to the track.

AFAIK, the Blackhawk bus is strictly for PB attendance and will not go to the track.
All spectator tickets at Laguna include paddock access. The only (optional) extra charge will be for VIP parking--not cheap!

If you like to see the prototypes just follow the crowd on Sunday. It's at the club house. No ticket necessary.
